Privacy policy

Who we are
MotherRise ("we", "us") runs the website mother-rise.com. For any privacy question, email hello@mother-rise.com.
What we collect
- Purchases: your name, email, phone number, order and payment IDs, and the date. We use these to deliver your ebook, send your download link and help if something goes wrong. Your name, email and order number are printed on your personal copy of the ebook to discourage unauthorised sharing.
- Payments: payments are processed by Razorpay. We never see or store your card, UPI or bank details. See Razorpay's privacy policy.
- Updates form: your name and email, plus anything you choose to add: stage, type of birth, language and country.
- Contact form: your name, email, topic and message.
- Members area: which weeks you tick off as done and, only if you choose to enter it, your baby's date of birth, used to show you the right week of the plan. You can change or remove the date at any time.
- Technical data: our hosting provider may keep standard server logs, such as IP address, browser type and pages visited, for security.
Please don't send detailed medical information through our forms.
How we use it
- To reply to your messages.
- To deliver products you buy, and to email you when we publish something new, if you agreed to this.
- To improve our content, for example by learning which languages readers prefer.
We rely on your consent, which you give by ticking the box on our forms. You can withdraw consent at any time.
Sharing
We don't sell your personal data. We share it only with service providers who help us run the website and send emails (such as our web host, email service and Razorpay for payments), or when the law requires it.
How long we keep it
We keep personal data only as long as the purpose it was given for still applies, and then delete it.
| What | How long we keep it |
|---|---|
| Order records (name, email, phone, order and payment IDs) | 8 years from the end of the financial year of the purchase, because tax and accounting law requires it |
| Your personalised copy of the ebook and its download link | The link works for 72 hours; the personalised file is deleted within 30 days of your last download |
| Updates-form details (name, email) | Until you ask us to remove them, then removed within 30 days |
| Details typed into a buy form when the payment is not completed | 60 days, then deleted – unless you have signed in, or asked for our updates (then only your name and email are kept, until you ask us to remove them) |
| Members-area progress (weeks ticked off, and your baby's date of birth if you entered it) | As long as you have an account; deleted with it. You can remove the date yourself at any time |
| Contact-form messages | Until your query is closed, and no more than 12 months after |
| Server logs kept by our hosting provider | Short periods set by the host, for security only |
If the law requires us to keep something longer, for example for tax, we keep only that record and nothing else.
Your rights
You can ask us to show you the personal data we hold about you, correct it, complete it, update it or delete it. You can also withdraw a consent you gave us earlier. We handle personal data in line with India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and the rules made under it.
To use any of these rights, email hello@mother-rise.com from the address you gave us, with "Data request" in the subject line and the request in the message. We may ask a question or two to check it is really you.
Withdrawing consent stops us using your data for that purpose from then on. It doesn't undo what was lawfully done before, and it doesn't remove records we must keep by law, such as records of a purchase. If you withdraw consent for our emails, you stay a customer and keep access to anything you bought.
Questions and complaints about your data
The person responsible for answering data questions at MotherRise can be reached at hello@mother-rise.com, with "Data request" in the subject line. We reply within 30 days.
Cookies
We don't use advertising cookies, and we don't follow you across other websites.
This website sets two small cookies of its own, and only if you sign in to the members area:
| Cookie | What it is for | How long it lasts |
|---|---|---|
mr_ses | Keeps you signed in, so you don't need a fresh link for every page | 60 days, or until you sign out |
mr_member | Lets the menu say "My account" instead of "Sign in". It holds no personal information. | 60 days, or until you sign out |
Both are needed for the members area to work at all. If you never sign in, this website sets no cookies of its own. Cloudflare, which sits in front of our website to keep it fast and secure, may also set a short-lived cookie of its own to tell real visitors apart from automated traffic.
Measuring how the website is used
We look at how the website is used so we know which pages are helpful and whether anything is broken. Two services do this on our pages:
- Cloudflare Web Analytics counts page views and visits. It sets no cookies, doesn't follow you to other websites, and reports totals rather than records about individual people.
- GoDaddy, the company that hosts this website, runs its own traffic measurement across the sites it hosts. It is part of the hosting platform rather than something we chose to add.
We don't use any of this to build a profile of you, and we don't join it up with your order details or anything you sent us through a form. If we add or remove a service, we'll update this policy and the date at the top.
Children
This website is meant for adults. We don't knowingly collect data from children.
Changes
We may update this policy. The date at the top shows the latest version.
